The Stars are Born by Lance on Fri Jul 13, 2007 12:49 pm
Yesterday I visited Fermyn Wood near Corby, Northants to see if i could see the Purple Emporer in the wild. A first for me.
There were a few flying around the treetops doing their territorial flights but eventually during a sunny spell a male settled on the path and 'posed' nicely for photographs. He eventually settled on my leather boot and i was able to take a picture of him on the toe of my size 10.
Also saw a few White Admirals nectaring on the bramble in the sunny rides.
When i got home I found that 2 of my Camberwell Beauties had emerged successfully along with one QOS Frit. Fantastic end to a superb butterfly day. :D
